Frequently Asked Questions

How much do sessions cost?

Individual Therapy for mental health and substance use:

Full fee sessions are on a sliding scale between $125 and $225 per 50 minute session for both time-limited and ongoing individual therapy.

Relationship therapy for 2+ partners:

Full fee sessions are on a sliding scale between $225 and $300 per 60 minute session for both time-limited and ongoing therapy.

*Fee is calculated based on need, income and other financial resources. If you are interested in beginning therapy but concerned about cost, reach out and we can discuss sliding scale options. I maintain 2 significantly reduced fee slots in my practice. I can also provide super bills!

Payment and fees:

I accept payment through Stripe by debit/credit card

How long will I need to be in therapy?

The answer is dependent on what your goals are!

Someone with one highly specific goal may choose a time-limited session model of therapy. For example, someone wanting to discontinue cigarette or cannabis use before surgery who has had success discontinuing use in the past and has a surgery date set, may benefit from a predetermined number of sessions.

Someone with multiple goals or open-ended goals may opt for ongoing therapy services for months to years.

Each person is different, so I encourage folx to have a review with their therapist every 6 months to a year to determine if the focus, frequency and relational dynamic in sessions are still in alignment with your goals.

Good Faith Estimate/No Surprises Act:

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the 2021 No Surprises Act, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical services, including psychotherapy. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services.

Teletherapy:

I conduct teletherapy via HIPAA-compliant video calls via Sessions platform.

What about AI?

I do not use AI in my practice. I have specifically chosen Sessions Health platform as it does not use AI currently.

What’s an initial phone consultation?

When meeting someone for the first time, I first set up a free 15-minute phone consultation. That way, we can both learn more about each other. I can share how I work, and you can share with me what you're looking for, as well as ask me any initial questions you might have about me or my practice. If we seem like a good fit, we can schedule an initial session.

How do I get started?

Contact me to schedule a free 15 min session to ask me questions and for us to explore your goals and see if we would be a good fit to work together.
